On April 1st, 2007 (April fool's day!!!), Department of Transport, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) accepted the failure of the "Intelligence Taxi Stop" project. Only 38% of calling taxi from the intelligent stops successed (taxis came and the passengers were waiting for them). Some of the calls were faked and some of them were real but when the passengers were waiting for the taxis, the other taxis came before and picked the passengers up. In the year 2006, no passengers called for taxis from 12 from total of 150 stops throughout Bangkok. BMA is planning to change intelligent taxi stops to be taxi motorcycle stations. The question is who will pay for the compensation of this failure. please note that this project was created by Bangkok Governor.
